Tessa Wilson, General Manager

Tessa Wilson, General Manager of Marcella’s located at Polaris Fashion Place, first gained interest in the restaurant industry through her father, who owned and operated a pizza shop, during her childhood. Wilson found herself surrounded by many of the employees while growing up, so she would pick their brains, learning about their lives and experiences.

A native of Bucyrus, Ohio, Wilson attended The Ohio State University, studying political science and psychology. She joined Cameron Mitchell Restaurants (CMR) in 2023 as a front-of-house manager at Hudson 29. Wilson’s favorite part about working for CMR is the culture of putting their Associates first. “The culture isn’t just words that live on a piece of paper, as you often see with many companies,” Wilson says, “but it can be felt inside our (CMR’s) restaurants.”

“I’ve learned to be open to change and new experiences; if you aren’t comfortable, you aren’t growing,” Wilson says when asked what her greatest lesson in her professional career has been. Offering advice to those interested in pursuing a career in restaurants and hospitality, she says, “This is the most rewarding career I could imagine. You have so much opportunity to touch lives in both small and huge ways. The time and work that you invest truly pays off every single day with the impact you have on those around you.”

Outside of work, Wilson enjoys traveling and immersing herself in other cultures, along with red wine tastings. Her favorite CMR dishes are the Beef Wellington from Butcher & Rose and any sushi roll from Hudson 29. In her new role, she is most looking forward to continuing to increase the impact she has on those she works with. Wilson wants to lean into mentoring future leaders while building connections with the community Marcella’s serves.
